How we handle personal and health information — at this website, and at the hospital.
The short version
This website does not ask you for any personal information. There are no forms, no accounts, no logins and no payments on it. We do not use analytics, advertising trackers or tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share information about our visitors.
The longer sections below explain the technical exceptions honestly — the language setting your browser remembers, the font files and embedded map that load from Google, and what happens when you choose to message us on WhatsApp or call us. There is also a section on the medical records we keep at the hospital, which is a separate matter from this website.

What this website collects from you directly
Nothing. There is no contact form, no appointment form, no newsletter signup, no account registration and no payment facility anywhere on this site. You can read every page on it without telling us who you are.
When you want to reach us, the website hands you off to an ordinary phone call, an email, or WhatsApp — all of which you start yourself, and each of which is covered below.
Cookies and browser storage
We set no cookies of our own. This website uses one item of browser local storage, and only one:

This value is stored on your own device. It is never sent to us, it contains nothing about you beyond the two letters en or hi, and it is not used to track you or to recognise you across other websites. You can remove it at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings, and the site will continue to work normally without it.
We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other analytics or advertising tracking on this site. Note, however, that the embedded Google Map described below sits in a Google-controlled frame, and Google may set its own cookies or storage within it. That is outside our control, and it is the reason we say "no cookies of our own" rather than "no cookies at all".
Information collected automatically by our web host
Like effectively every website, the server that delivers these pages keeps standard access logs. These typically record your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, and your browser and device type. This happens at the hosting level, is used only to keep the site running and secure, and is not combined with any other information or used to build a profile of you. We do not use these logs for marketing.
Third parties this website touches
Two of these load by themselves. The rest happen only if you click.
Google Fonts — loads automatically on every page
The typefaces used across this site are served by Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser fetches those font files from Google's servers, and that request necessarily discloses your IP address and browser details to Google.
Google Maps — loads automatically on the pages that show our location
Our homepage, contact page and first-visit page embed a Google map showing where the hospital is. The map is loaded from Google as soon as the page opens, without you clicking it. As with the fonts, this discloses your IP address and browser details to Google, and Google may additionally set cookies or storage inside that map frame under its own terms.
Both of these are governed by Google's privacy policy, which we do not control. We use them because a legible typeface in two scripts and a map you can actually navigate to are worth having — but you should know they are there.
WhatsApp — only when you choose to message us
The Book Appointment and WhatsApp buttons on this site open WhatsApp with a pre-filled message. Nothing is sent until you press send. Once you do, your message, your phone number and your WhatsApp profile details are processed by WhatsApp and its parent company, Meta, under their own terms — not ours. We receive and keep the messages you send us so that we can respond and arrange your appointment.
Please do not send detailed medical history, scan reports or documents over WhatsApp for an initial enquiry. A message asking for an appointment is all that is needed. Bring your reports with you to the consultation instead, where they can be discussed properly and kept confidentially in your hospital record.
Directions and phone links — only when you choose them
The Get Directions links open Google Maps in a new tab, and phone links open your dialler. Following these takes you off our website and onto services governed by their own terms.
Medical records and information you give us at the hospital
This section is about the hospital rather than the website, because most people looking for a privacy policy want to know about both.
When you are treated at Jeevan Jyoti Hospital, we record the information needed to care for you properly and to meet our legal and professional obligations — your identity and contact details, your medical and surgical history, examination findings, investigation results, prescriptions, operative notes and treatment records.
We treat this as confidential. In practice that means:
- Your records are used for your treatment, and are seen by the doctors, nurses and staff involved in your care or in running the hospital's clinical and billing functions.
- We do not publish, sell or trade patient information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
- We disclose information outside the hospital where you have asked or agreed — for example, a referral to another hospital or a claim under an insurance or government scheme — or where we are legally required to, such as a court order, a statutory notification of a communicable disease, or a request from a lawful authority under Indian law.
- We do not use your name, photograph, case details or clinical images in any publicity, on this website, or on social media without your specific, informed and written consent, which you are free to refuse or withdraw. Refusing has no effect whatsoever on your treatment.
Every patient review shown on this website was published voluntarily and publicly by the patient on our Google listing. We do not write, edit or commission reviews.
Children
This website is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children. Where we treat a child at the hospital, their records are handled with the same confidentiality as any other patient's, with the parent or legal guardian exercising consent on their behalf.
How long information is kept
Medical records are retained for the periods required by Indian law and professional regulation, and often longer where continuity of care makes that sensible — a patient returning years later with a problem in the same joint is far better served if their earlier records still exist. WhatsApp enquiries are kept only as long as they are useful for arranging and following up on your care.
Security
We take reasonable steps, appropriate to the size of our hospital, to protect information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access — including restricting access to records to staff who need them, and physically securing where records are held. No system, on paper or on a computer, is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
Your rights
Indian law, principally the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, together with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under it, gives you rights over your personal information. You may:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you, and obtain a summary of it;
- Ask us to correct anything inaccurate, out of date or incomplete;
- Ask us to erase information, where we are not required to keep it by law or for legitimate medical purposes;
- Withdraw a consent you previously gave — for instance, consent to use a photograph;
- Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to;
- Raise a grievance about how we have handled your information.
To request a copy of your own medical records, please come to the hospital in person with photo identification, or write to us at the address above. We ask for identification for your protection — it is the only way we can be confident that medical records are given to the person they belong to.
Grievances
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal or medical information, please raise it with us first, so that we have the chance to put it right.

We aim to acknowledge within seven working days and to respond substantively within thirty days.
If you remain dissatisfied, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 provides for escalation to the Data Protection Board of India.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change — for example, if we add an online appointment form or introduce analytics — we will update this page and change the date at the top before doing so, not afterwards.
