Jeevan Jyoti Hospital has served Bijnor district since 1998. What started as the district's first surgical centre is now a growing multi-specialty hospital — run by the same family, with the same commitment.
In 1998, Dr. Manoj Pratap Singh and Dr. Kusum Singh made a choice.
Both had trained at the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University — one of India's most respected medical institutions. They could have built careers in larger cities. Instead, they came to Dhampur and built Dhampur's first surgical centre.
Their belief was simple: people in this district deserved specialist surgical and obstetric care close to home — not a long, expensive journey to a city hospital every time they needed an operation.
For 28 years, they have served that belief. Thousands of families in Dhampur, Nagina, Kiratpur, Nehtaur, and across Bijnor district have been treated at Jeevan Jyoti Hospital. Many of their patients are now bringing their own children here.
In 2023 and 2025, the hospital entered a new phase. Dr. Nitin Chauhan joined, bringing fellowship training in Minimal Access Surgery and expanding laparoscopic capability. Then Dr. Vibhu Pratap Singh — Dr. Manoj and Dr. Kusum's son, trained as an MS Orthopaedic surgeon with further fellowship training in robotic and revision joint replacement — returned to Dhampur to build an orthopaedic department. His wife, Dr. Niharika Singh (MS OBG, with fellowships in obstetric ultrasound and minimal access surgery), joined alongside him, strengthening women's health and obstetrics.
It is, in every sense, a family commitment. The founders built this hospital. The next generation is growing it — with training that lets the hospital handle more than it ever could before. The community that trusted them then is trusting them still.
What is coming next — a Modular OT, ICU, HDU, and NICU — is not ambition for its own sake. It is the same logic that started this hospital in 1998: the people of Bijnor district deserve better care, closer to home.
