When I started practising in Dhampur in 1998, it was clear how much the women of this district valued having a woman doctor they could speak to openly. That mattered to me then, and it still does.

Over 28 years, I have delivered thousands of babies, and treated mothers, daughters, and now granddaughters of the same families. Pregnancy and women's health need more than clinical skill — they need a doctor a woman can speak to without hesitation.

That is what I have tried to build here, and what I am glad to see continue — now with my daughter-in-law Dr. Niharika carrying the same work forward, with training I did not have access to when I started.

Dr. Kusum Singh trained in obstetrics and gynaecology at the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, and in 1998 co-founded Jeevan Jyoti Hospital alongside her husband, Dr. Manoj. She has delivered thousands of babies and treated generations of women across Bijnor district over the past 28 years.

She continues to practise alongside Dr. Niharika, the hospital's newer OBG specialist, bringing the perspective of three decades of obstetric and gynaecological care in this exact community.
